< Abstract >

AGEs (advanced glycation end products) which is generated and accumulated by glycation stress acceleration of a living body has an influence on aging and a disease. The OPH (oxidized protein hydrolase) has decomposition of an oxidized protein and AGEs, therefore a possibility which operates on restraint of diabetes and aging is suggested. In this research, we investigated relationship between the skin glycation stress, the age, and the OPH activity in horny layer.
We peeled the horny layer of a cheek of 35 people who got consent beforehand, and measured OPH activity and determined the quantity of CML. At the same time, the skin autofluorescence was measured using AGE leader (Diagnoptics).
As a result, the negative correlation was confirmed between the quantity of CML, the age, the skin autofluorescence value, and the OPH activity in horny layer (p<0.05). Moreover the OPH activity was confirmed in the cultivation cell. These results suggest that the skin aging is advanced by glycation stress caused by the OPH activity declined as aging.
